Bubble (2021)
video
6 min. 21 sec,

Since the state of emergency was declared and people were urged to refrain from going out, I have spent a lot of time in a bubble limited to the home and the surrounding area. When I stand still, I see the familiar landscape in a different light. Not only did I find myself looking closely at the movement of nature, from airplanes and birds to clouds and the moon, but I also began to listen more closely to the sounds around me.
This work, which begins with the setting of the sun and ends with the dawn of the full moon, is a record of the time in the bubble when people, like nocturnal animals, came out of their "nests" (homes) at dark and gathered together to enjoy nightly fireworks, while pondering the "special and unusual summer" they were experiencing.
When the declaration came, it was autumn and the night was quiet again. Whenever I pass by the ground, I wonder where the people from that time are now and what they are doing.

The bubble method is a method of infection control in which contact with the outside world is avoided as much as possible in a limited space.
