This series is based on the postcard set sold at tourist sites during Japan’s period of high economic growth. A set of these postcards would contain one or two photos of a forest road which provided a feeling of strangeness. The dream of the promotion of the rural development will come true through the active flow of automobiles—behind such a hope is a mood of emptiness, which foresees the future abolishment of these roads.
