When apparent movement and actual movement share the same behavior, an object will (appear to) become still.
The running view is placed onto the continuous view, which makes the viewer move “virtually”, though “actually” staying in one place. However, this movement is accompanied by a warp, like a crinkled cloth (In this case, the distant view and the near view have different timelines in the progression: an airplane far away moves slower than a mouse running nearby. Gravitation is space-time curvatures. The spatial depth here, similarly, can be said to be a space-time curvature).
